• Morning Departure from Lusaka: Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Lusaka along the M9 highway and the picturesque D69 road. This route offers stunning views of Zambia’s diverse landscapes, including rolling hills, lush greenery, and occasional wildlife sightings.

• Arrival in Itezhi-Tezhi: After approximately 326 km, arrive at the Southern Park of Kafue National Park in the charming town of Itezhi-Tezhi.

• Accommodation: Check into a comfortable lodge perched uphill in a mountainous setting, offering breathtaking views of Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. Relax and unwind after your journey.

• Evening Introduction to Stargazing: After dinner, enjoy a brief introduction to stargazing, learning about constellations visible in the Zambian skies.

07:30 AM: Wake up at your lodge, campsite, or guesthouse in Itezhi Tezhi and start the day with a sumptuous breakfast to energize for the adventures ahead.

08:30 AM: Depart for the Ngoma Game Management Area within the southern region of Kafue National Park for an exciting game-viewing experience.

09:30 AM – 10:30 AM: Enter the Ngoma Management Area inside Kafue National Park to explore its abundant wildlife.

10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Enjoy a guided tour around the Ngoma area, with frequent stops to get a closer look at the magnificent animals in their natural habitat.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Optional Activity): If time and conditions permit, visit the Elephant Orphanage Centre in the southern area of Kafue National Park. Witness the incredible work of the David Shepherd Foundation volunteers as they care for vulnerable orphaned elephants. Contributions (optional) to the center in the form of medicines, food supplements, PPE for caregivers, or financial support are welcome and go directly to supporting the elephants’ care and eventual reintegration into the wild.

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Relish a delicious lunch at the Elephant Orphanage Centre. Please note that on certain days, the center may be closed to visitors for routine medical care of the elephants. If this is the case, the itinerary will continue with game viewing in the Ngoma area.

2:00 PM: Proceed to explore the Nkala and Ngoma Game Management Areas, focusing on loops along the river for more incredible wildlife encounters. Exit Kafue National Park at the Musa Gate and return to your lodge or campsite.

03:00 PM - 05:30 PM: Open and Free time: You may rest in your room or decided to do some light activity that will be proposed by the trip leader in consultation with you.

08:30 AM: Embark on an adventurous drive along the spinal gravel road, which winds gracefully along the stunning Lake Itezhi Tezhi. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Kafue National Park as you explore its inner loops, spotting an array of wildlife for one last memorable encounter. Keep an eye out for animals drinking from the majestic Kafue River.

12:00 PM: Exit Kafue National Park through the Dundumwezi gate and journey towards Kalomo.

02:50 PM: Arrive in Kalomo and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. After the refreshing stop, continue your journey along the T-1 road towards Livingstone.

04:30 PM: Reach Livingstone, where you will be dropped off at your chosen lodge or hotel. Take time to relax and reflect on the incredible adventures of the past four days.
